Welcome

Elysium is a World of Warcraft raiding guild on the Hellscream (EU) server Alliance side. Our motto is casual raid times, but hardcore raids. We cater for players who don't put progress/epics before real life and friendships, but who still wish to participate in a top raiding guild - with the right balance of members and a realistic raiding schedule we have been extremely successful at this.

Elysium was founded on 30 August 2006. The majority of founding members came from the second raid group of the guild 'Einherjar'. The founding of Elysium was done with the co-operation of Einherjar's officers and links were maintained between the two guilds. Elysium went on to slay the Twin Emperors, Instructor Razuvious and cleared the Spider Wing in Naxxramas before the release of The Burning Crusade ('TBC').

In TBC we expanded the guild to include a social membership of ex-raiders and skilled players who did not have much interest in regular raiding. The raiding side of the guild progressed beyond Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep before attunements to the next tier were removed (obtaining the server-second kill on Lady Vashj in the process) and completed Mount Hyjal. We came extremely close to killing Illidan (before the pre-WotLK patch which trivialised the encounters) but took a break from raiding in the summer of 2008.

In Wrath of the Lich King (“WotLK”) we returned as a 10-man raid guild which allows us to stay true to our motto and cater for skilled raiders who potentially were tired of the larger raids and the time commitment they entailed. We began with three 10-man raid groups but eventually dropped to only one raid group (named Adrastos) which was comprised of our most skilled members who were committed to 10-man progress. We progressed as a world top 20 10-man strict raid group (strict meaning the guild did not obtain any 25-man kills at the current raid tier and therefore did not outgear the 10-man versions of the encounters), raiding three nights a week and completing the majority of 10-man achievements available. We were the second 10-man strict guild in the world to kill Professor Putricide in ICC and cleared 11/12 in ICC heroic mode. We concluded raiding in the summer of 2010.

Elysium will return to raiding in Cataclysm, once again as a 10-man strict guild. We will operate as many raid groups as there is demand for within the guild's membership. We will also continue to maintain a healthy social membership of players who might not necessarily wish to committ to a full raiding schedule. New blood is always welcome and I encourage anyone who feels the same way about the game as I do to apply to join us.
